Many of us had seen Chatsworth before, but it never fails to surprise the visitor. We were very lucky with the weather - a beautiful autumn day - although those of us who chose to do the house in the morning benefitted from a warmer afternoon.

The exhibition of chairs ran throughout the house. It was a delight to see such an extensive display and a wonderful collection of ideas and craftsmanship.

The sculpture exhibition took us on a very pleasant - if bracing - walk around the grounds in all their autumn colour.

We arrived, we had coffee, we walked, we had lunch, we shopped, we walked again, we had coffee and we came home.
